PLOT / EVENT SUGGESTION.

ONE TIME EVENT.

TITLE: Be as poetic or as dumb as you'd like
CONCEPT: The broad strokes of the event. Is everyone now living in domestic bliss thanks to the whisper's interference, or has someone decided it'd just be really fun to try to summon meteor to see if the planet revives the same way everyone else does?
MOTIVATION: What do you want this event to accomplish? Happy feelings, sad feelings, is there a specific angle you'd like to take your character with?

ONGOING PLOTS.

Occasionally the Whispers may be motivated to help characters accomplish their goals, hoping to drive the narrative back on track. This could be bringing characters (illusionary or real) from that character's past into the present, or giving them visions of the future to try to motivate them towards disrupting the status quo. Consider these like the random events that games used to do back in the day: ie, your character wakes up and suddenly they're a kid, or a body swap, etc.

LOCATIONS.

𝑰𝑵𝑺𝑼𝑺𝑼𝑹𝑹𝑶: 𝑨 𝑾𝑶𝑹𝑳𝑫 𝑾𝑰𝑻𝑯𝑶𝑼𝑻 𝑫𝑬𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑵𝒀

𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑴𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒂𝒓 — The capital city and power base of the Shinra Electric Power Company in the world of Gaia. The Midgar of Insusurro isn't quite the one you may recall. The desert city has been transformed into a port city. The 𝑺𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒂𝒚 proudly overlooks the sea, Sector Two resembling 𝑱𝒖𝒏𝒐𝒏 more than its former self. The city of 𝑬𝒅𝒈𝒆 spreads out from shadow of the fallen Sector 7 Plate.

𝑲𝒂𝒍𝒎 — A quiet town with only a few shops, a bar, and an inn. The city serves as a comfortable place to rest away from the hustle and bustle of Midgar.

𝑫𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 —A secret buried underneath the land Midgar stands. One can find the entrance in the rubble of the Sector 7 Slums. The bulk of the facility is comprised of laboratories, though wander far enough and you'll find an open area full of simulated earth and sky.

𝑪𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒂 𝒅𝒆𝒍 𝑺𝒐𝒍 — A coastal resort town that also serves as the main port on the western continent in Final Fantasy VII. It's always warm and sunny here, its beaches always pristine and primed for swimming.

𝑴𝒕. 𝑵𝒊𝒃𝒆𝒍 — A mountain in Nibel region, known for its treacherous peaks and fierce monsters. It is the site for the Nibel Reactor where Jenova was stored for some time. Now, the reactor sits abandoned, the only evidence of its former inhabitant the bold letters of her name still emblazoned on its pipes. The village of 𝑵𝒊𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒎 sits near the foot of the mountain, an ancient mansion full of secrets sits in its center.

𝑹𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒕 𝑻𝒐𝒘𝒏 — A town settled in the shadow of the Shinra No. 26, a massive rocket leaning dangerously to one side. The people here are intelligent, all former rocket scientists and aeronautics, but tough and bitter.

𝑪𝒐𝒔𝒎𝒐 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒐𝒏 — The "Valley of the Fallen Star", is the base of AVALANCHE and all who study Planteology. Life in Cosmo Canyon is relaxed and laid back, its people seeking to live a life that is at one with the planet. You can observe the skies through the observatory.

𝑰𝒄𝒊𝒄𝒍𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒏 — A city within the Icicle Region, serving as both a rest stop for weary travelers and as a resort town. Due to the high concentration of mako energy the town is perpetually blanketed in snowfall. On the outskirts sits the abandoned city of 𝑴𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒐𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒎.

𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝑪𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 — The lingering scar of the calamity. The Lifestream is highly concentrated here as the planet tries to heal its wound. The whispers refuse to allow any and all to approach, driving them back with memories of the path they should be walking.

Just like the traditional dressing rooms in the LJ days of yore, there is no app required. The only barrier to entry is approval by an existing member.

If you want an example of the kind of setting we're going for, please take a look at Pokedressing. Characters are dropped into an established and evolving setting, continuity is kept between threads and memes, and characters are able to effect and alter the setting.

Memes are a large part of the unique mechanics of Insusurro. In-game, they manifest as the will of the Whispers, who are doing their part to correct the timeline by imposing certain events and situations that further their agenda. They have the power to warp reality if they so desire.

𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌?

Because this is a space outside of fate and the Lifestream, characters who die do not actually die. This opens up the option for you to, say, raze an entire city to the ground in all-consuming flames—you know, for funsies.

PREMISE.

A pivotal choice has been laid out before you. The catalyst could have been something as small as an outreached hand or as monumental as a murder. Whatever it was, the point is the same: the choice was never your own to begin with. The guiding hand of fate has ever been there to propel you toward your 'true' path. Everything has already been decided for you. You were never meant to write your own story.

But now, you've found a way to liberate yourself from the bondage of destiny. The path before you disappears. The whispering in your ear that influences every decision you've ever made has gone dead silent. For the first time in your life, you are free. And in that instant, the world you know falls away.

The world in which you awaken exists outside of time and space. Everything is bright and green and far, far too quiet. You recognize all the familiar landmarks of home: the peaks of Mt. Nibel, the sky-high Shinra tower, Rocket Town's leaning spacecraft, but all these things mingle in the same skyline, far closer to one another than they ought to be. It looks to be about a day's walk between them. This is your world condensed.

Even if you manage to make a place for yourself in this altered reality, the hand of fate is still not done with you. She's sending her harbingers, you see, wraith-like, spectral things that wander these planes in service to her unspoken agenda. Because freedom isn't free, not here; every day there will be a choice, and this time, there are no right answers.

Will you run away or stand and fight? Will you live or let yourself succumb? Will you choose to be kind, or will you let the dark compulsions of cruelty drive you? Only you can decide in this strange new world. It's time to write your own story.
